Fripp
Island Marina
The
Fripp Island Marina is a full-service facility on Old House
Creek. The marina is located just miles from the Intracostal
Waterway.
Marina
Services
The
marina offers every service and convenience you could think
of. Our staff will be happy to get your boat ready to go,
using the in-out ramp service. If you prefer to ready your
own boat, take advantage of the marinas gasoline and
diesel services, as well as the pump-out station. Our knowledgeable
staff can offer docking assistance, or tell you about our
boat cleaning service.
If you
are interested in leaving your boat at Fripp Island, the
marina has 65 convenient wet slips, and 120 dry slips for
long-term storage.
For
everything else boat- and water-related, the Marina Store
is your destination. Here you will find restrooms and showers,
for those leaving or returning from a boat trip. Make sure
your boat is stocked with live and frozen bait, tackle,
sunscreen, ice and drinks, or pack your cooler with sandwiches
and salads from our deli.
Charter Services
Lets
not forget charter fishing! Choose offshore or inshore fishing,
accompanied by one of our experienced charter guides. If
you choose offshore fishing in the Gulf Stream, chances
are good youll catch sailfish, mahi-mahi, barracuda,
kingfish, marlin, wahoo, grouper or snapper. If you prefer
inshore fishing, the South Carolina coast is the place for
you. Trout, flounder, red drum, cobia, tarpon and Spanish
mackerel are plentiful around Fripp Island.
Fishing
Tournaments
The
Fripp Island Resort Marina is proud to host a number of
Fishing Events throughout the year
We kick
off the season in April with the annual Fripp Island Marina
Mackerel Tourney. Catch the largest king mackerel, wahoo,
dolphin or Spanish mackerel and win a prize. The fisherman
who catches the largest cobia gets a special prize.
In May,
we host the Warm-Up Kingfish Tourney. Enjoy a Lowcountry
boil for dinner, and hit the water at sunrise. At 6 p.m.,
all fish are weighed in, and prizes are awarded for the
largest king mackerel, wahoo, delphin, cobia or Spanish
mackerel. A youth angler prize is given to fishermen 16
and under who catch the largest fish of any category.
In August,
we celebrate the annual Kingfish Tourney. Catch the largest
kingfish or Spanish mackerel and you win! A youth angler
prize is given to fishermen 16 and under who catch the largest
fish of either category.
Fishermen
ages 6 to 15 have their own event, the Kids Fishing
Tourney, in November. Held the day after Thanksgiving, fishermen
angle for trout, bass, flounder, spot and croaker. Participants
can fish from the marina docks, a boat, in the surf, your
private fishing hole or from the Maxwell Memorial Bridge.
Theres no entry fee, but fishermen must supply their
own rod, reel and tackle. Prizes are given for the largest
fish in each category.

off Fripp Island. These are popular recreational activities
on the island that do not require a permit or license as
long as what you catch is used for personal consumption
only. However, you are required to have a permit or license
when any of the activities listed above are conducted from
a boat. Please note that oyster and clam gathering should
be done in designated areas only because regulations change
frequently. Consult the Marina for the latest information.
